Percussion is great, drums have just the right amount of punch to them. It does get a bit repetitive, making the entire sound like an intro building up to a different melody. Perhaps add something different?

As a producer myself i do have ideas, but it's your song :)

HyperTrough responds:

Hey thanks for the review! I completely get what you're saying. The song could've gone in many directions, but I couldn't be bothered exporting the results and compressing them all over again :L

Hopefully I can work out a better workflow pattern for future tracks!

Thanks again :D

Add bass guitar.

For the wobbles. Get Native Instruments Massive... just torrent it. There are tons of youtube tutorials on making dubstep wobbles, its simple to use but you can make some pretty dope sounding stuff.

Also get SugarBytes WOW to put on your basses to get that vocal sounding effect on it.

Very nice. Percussion is clipping a bit. Wheres the rest?

inhumanization805 responds:

didnt really finish it. just got bored and found drifted off on something else. lol thanks though

Your levels are all over the place. Just sounds like noise to me.

Monesmone responds:

I don't understand what you mean by levels, however I shall attempt to make each noise more distinct next time. Thanks for you comment.

Here's a few pointers for making drum n bass.

For the percussion (drums) get some punchy kick samples and snares. I recommend VEC, though you can find some nice ones on free sample websites like freesound.

For the bass just buy (torrent) Native Instruments Massive and start learning to make your own basses. There are tons of tutorials on youtube, and once you get the hang of it you can make your own unique sounds.

Listen to Pendulum, Noisia, and Spor. Get some inspiration.

When trying to learn how to produce a certain genre, I tend to look try and make someone elses song from scratch, it really helps develop your own skills and get a more professional sound.

Good luck, and don't give up.

Love it. My only gripe is the kick... as someone said before. Theres not enough bass in it, its too midrange. Try layering a low end kick on it and it might sound better.

Generic indie song. What makes you guys special, give me something unique.

-1 star
No vocals. I know its just a demo.

You earned 3.5 stars for:
-Good production quality
-Great playing of the instruments even though the guitar was a bit off beat at times.

1 pattern repeating for 1 minute straight?

Please put more effort into a track before submitting it.

Looking at some great production quality. The intro was pretty misleading though. I was like.. "wow that percussion is weak!" Then it actually dropped and i was like, "YEAH!"

The song does change a lot throughout, but i feel some sections are forced and don't feel as polished as the rest.

Anyways, voted 5 to counter the zero bombers. Keep doing your thing.

haxory responds:

Thanks a lot for the review mate :) It's much appreciated!
